n64pt31 - These are pre-owned OEM genuine Nintendo 64 Entertainment System console game reset modules used to reboot games played on the N64 system. This button sends a signal that instructs any currently running game software or console BIOS to forcibly reboot or restart. The N64 accomplishes this seamlessly by fading out the volume and/or screen brightness for a smoother effect.
Some symptoms that you might need a replacement reset switch include an inability to reset your games, or your games not starting up at all (which could be a reset switch stuck in the closed position). If your system games fail to boot and there is no change in the screen brightness when you press the reset button, that "may" be because of a defective reset button. Or it may be something else entirely, so do not order this item unless you are sure your reset switch is defective. This item requires soldering the 4 posts, so unless you are proficient at this, it is recommended for professionals only.
