#gm0027 - Released in 1988 and originally called "The Soviet Challenge," this is the original commercially-licensed version of Alexey Pajitnov's classic Tetris puzzle-solving game. It is translated into well over 200 electronic and computer platforms, and this version by Tengen for NES is the best. The object is to make four solid uninterrupted lines accross the screen, but its not as easy as you might thing. Different geometric shapes fall from the top of the screen to rest on the bottom. To fit the pieces together snugly until they form a complete line, which then will disappears, is difficult. If you can't get the pieces to form a complete line before a block falls, you begin a new line. This will eventually stack up and cover the screen. That is when the game is over. As the game progresses, the pieces drop faster increasing the difficulty. Tetris is a NES classic game for everyone that takes about five minutes to learn, and a lifetime to master. It's fun and addictive and what else can you ask from a game.
