gm0050 - Developed and published by Hudson Soft Company, Ltd., and released in February of 1991, "Adventure Island II: Aliens in Paradise," is the well received sequel to the Adventure Island classic. In this rare game sequel, you again play Master Higgins, and your adventures are back with outstanding action, and of course a lot of the same fun and entertaining competition. The game is a side scroller, where you move across the screen from left to right. The scenario in this game is that although Adventure Island's Princess Leilani may be safe, the evil witch Doctor has kidnapped her sister Tina, your sweetheart. And this time, not one, but eight perilous islands stand between you and your cavegirl. Standing in your way are the aliens, so lucky you have your trusty hammer. The great thing about this offering is that there are more levels, bonus stages, nice weapons, warp zones, and secret rooms. Again, dinosaurs may help if you hop on their backs. There are four types, each with unique special abilities. You can collect items such as fruit, milk, meat, and fairies, and may ride a skateboard. Just remember that big bad Bosses await you at the end of each Island (level), and it won't be easy! As for the graphics and music, what can I say but that they are as great as the 8-bit NES will allow. Adventure Island 2 is a must have for NES collectors. Rarity Rating B-.
