#gm0066 - Released in December of 1988, Rampage is a port of the Arcade game of the same name. You play this game as either Lizzie, George or Ralph, the victims of an experiment gone wrong, who has mutated into a giant monsters who have set off on a city to city Rampage to see how much of the country they can destroy. I dunno, I guess their brains were mutilated too! Anyway, what results is "monsters at large" destroying everything in sight. Along with your friends, you do just that, destroying buildings trains, bridges and cars. Ahhh, the joy of destruction made the release of this game something fresh and unique from the normal NES offerings. While you rampage, the authorities and the military are after you, and will attempt to kill you. You must avoid them or destroy them first. You can punch, jump, and punch low to the ground, which is great for destroying buildings and staying alive. Ah yes, the game Rampage is just one of those mindless action games that just worked! It's campy, cartoonish and just plain fun with 128 levels no less. You will have to continue eating regularly or you will shrink back to being just a human being again. And you can eat almost anything in the level, a lot of which will give you life and points. The graphics on Rampage are nice and the sound great for the feel of the game. There are lots of stages and cities to destroy, so have at it! Rampage's gameplay is in a word, outstanding, and the game is even more enjoyable in two player mode. The two-player option increases the entertainment of this game, as you can fight each other over who will bash what building or simply compete for points. It's a simplistic game, a novel idea, and a lot of fun. Yes, this is a game to put on your must have list. Pre-owned - Includes Game Only, no manual or instructions are included. Rarity Rating "C" - Rampage for NES game review by Prince NES Gamer.
