Dragon Warrior III

gm0089 - Developed and Published by the Enix Corporation, "Dragon Warrior III" was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in March of 1992. It is a "rare" 3rd-person perspective fantasy medieval type Role-Playing Game (RPG) that is the conclusion of the first Dragon Warrior trilogy, well worth the wait. This game takes you back in time to the original Prince Loto (The Legendary Erdrick), who is the ancestor of the first Dragon Warrior hero. The scenario is that an evil Wizard named Archfiend Baramos is out to destroy the country and has brought forth great monsters to terrorize the land. Your father, a great Warrior of Aliahan named Ortega, who was masterfully skilled in combat and spell-casting was sent out to face the great Wizard, but he never returned. So this time, it's personal! Though you are only 16 years old, the ruler of the Kingdom has enlisted you to take up your father's mantle and seek out and destroy the Evil Baramos. Dragon Warrior III is on a much grandeur scale than the first two Dragon Warrior games, with a much larger world, how much there is, and there is to do, the additional dungeons to search and many more different monsters that you have to defeat. There is also more spells, weapons, and different armor to choose from. Dragon warrior II is also different from the first two games in that you begin by yourself, and must recruit three warrior allies to help you. There are eight levels of Warriors, including goof-off, merchant, Pilgrim, fighter, soldier and wizard. The difference is that in Dragon Warrior III, you can drop any of your current warrior characters and recruit other characters to take their place. With your allies, you venture day and night to over 40 towns, shrines, castles, and villages. You can play either as Ortega's son or daughter. Overall, this is without question the best of the Dragon warrior games, and is unquestionably an incredibly engaging RPG adventure. One that any NES enthusiast must have in their game collection. The common abbreviation for Dragon Warrior III is "DQIII," "DWIII," or "DW3" and is also known in Japan as "Dragon Quest III: Soshite Densetsu he".
