This is the sequel to the very popular Medieval Fantasy RPG NES game, Wizards and Warriors. And many NES gamers call it superior to the first. The scenario is that the evil wizard Malkil that you defeated has returned from the dead to vex the land of Sindarin. As the brave warrior Kuros, you are summoned to vanquish Malkil again. But the wizard is crafty and has come to the land of Sindarain in the form of four elemental beings. They take the form of water, wind, air and fire. In order to destroy the wicked wizard Malkil, you must defeat the 4 elementals and assemble the legendary Ironsword. You must battle your way to collect the shattered pieces of the Legendary Ironsword that is scattered throughout the land of Sindarin. It is the only weapon that is capable of destroying the evil wizard Malkil. This is the definition of a 2D platform adventure game that will take you through 10 entertaining levels, with each level divided into two stages. There are four animal kings in the land and they will help you in your quest. And there is a great challenge in the ultimate showdown! Game control is average, but the gameplay, story line and entertainment value more than make up for it. The game has outstanding graphics that are very colorful and imaginative. And the game stages are also well designed and animated. Nothing could compare to the music of the first game, but the music here is a masterpiece in it's own right. You will find this game has a nice level of challenge and exploration. And Ironsword: Wizards and Warriors 2 is a bona fide NES classic and belongs on any NES gamers list of favorites.
