Greatly influenced by the rise in popularity of skateboarding in the 80s, this game became quite popular and can be a lot of fun. It is a five-event skateboarding competition where you can take to your skateboard and challenge the punks who think they are king of the streets. Show off your "Radical" skatin' skills in two modes (street skate or half pipe). In Skate or Die you play as yourself and can either go against the computer or against your friends. The object of Skate or Die is to beat all your competition and gain the street creds. Going against you will be the Skate shop owner's son and grandson, who will attempt try to thwart your efforts at every turn. In Skate or Die for the Nintendo Entertainment System, you can choose to skate in full competition mode or in practice modes. The graphics and sound in this game are average at best, but the music is adequate and entertainment value more than makes up for it.
