#gm0076 - Developed by Imagineer Inc, published by Acclaim Entertainment, and released in 1991, "The Simpsons: Bart Vs. The Space Mutants," is based on the popular TV show. Aliens have landed in Springfield and it's up to you (as Bart Simpson) to save the town from the Alien invaders. There are five stages that you have to conquer in order to beat this game. To do so, Bart must dispose of the objects that the Space Mutants plan to use to build their invasion machine. If Bart can collect enough of the "stuff" left behind when they are jumped upon, that will be enough proof that the Aliens have landed and are threatening earth. Collecting enough of this evidence will mean that Bart's family will believe and be able to help him when he gets to the Bosses. There are those who judge "The Simpsons: Bart Vs. The Space Mutants," far too harshly, as it was never meant to be a game of rocket science. It was meant to be a mindless fun romp through Bartsville. Bit then there are those who don't judge harshly enough. This is in part due I'm sure to what I call the new-age videogame snobs and the fact that this game is difficult in places. While I'll agree it's not one of the best NES games, it is entertaining enough and enjoyable for many, especially Bart Simpson's fans.
