GCG0005 - Original Black Label Version - Developed by Nintendo EAD, and published by Nintendo of America Inc., "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" was released on March 24, 2003. Along with the Mario series, the Legend of Zelda has become Nintendo's flagship series. Wind waker is a new adventure in the series and features responsive control and a very interesting story line. But this offering doesn't lean on previous releases, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker is an outstanding achievement in it's own right. The visual presentation is stunning without being the standard reality-fare. While this game uses cel-shading graphical technology, this game is far from un-challenging and simplistic. The fact is, this graphical style is perfect for the Legend of Zelda, because it allows you to really captures the feel of the characters and story. The game opens on Outset Island, a small patch in the middle of a great ocean. Indeed, the world of The Wind Waker consists of a large collection of islands on this ocean. Link lives on Outset Island along with his sister and grandmother. Suddenly a giant bird swoops down and grabs the pirate captain's daughter. As Link you head off to rescue the little girl, but success has the bird taking revenge by kidnapping Link's sister. The new adventure begins. You play as Link as you seek to discover the mystery behind the giant bird and the secrets of the ocean around you. Progressing effectively in The Wind Waker will revolve around you possessing the right items in your inventory. You earn items mostly in the battles or the game's dungeons. These dungeons have very diverse themes, such as plants, wind, ice and fire. Get all the items you can because you will need them if you plan on being victorious when going up against a boss. In his adventures, Link will learn how to change the tide of the ocean, so he can sail to new uncharted destinations that were before unapproachable. While The Wind Waker does have its own unpredictableness and battles, the lions share of gameplay involves you sailing around the world in a talking boat known as the King of Red Lions. Along with the new adventure for your character, "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" features more interactive environments than any previous Zelda game. You will also play partly with a helper character. In addition, Link also can find a host of new items, including the Grappling Hook and Deku Leaf. There is also the Tingle Turner, allowing you to connect a Game Boy Advance to the GameCube and use Tingle the fairy to find hidden items. All in all a great game, probably one of the best adventures you'll ever play. Pre-owned - Plays on Gamecube or Wii - Rarity Rating C
