Ninja Gaiden

#gm0251 - Developed and Published by Tecmo Inc., "Ninja Gaiden" was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in March of 1989. Ninja gaiden is a 3rd-Person Perspective, Side-Scrolling conversion of the classic arcade game. Its claim to fame is that it pioneered the use of cinematic cut-scenes between levels to tell some of the story. The scenario is a story of Ryu Hayabusa, who is the son of a Ninja Warrior named Ken. Ken lost his life in a battle to the death with an enemy Ninja. Ryu finds a letter that his father left behind, instructing him to take the Dragon Sword of the Hayabusa Clan and travel to America and find the archaeologist, Walter Smith, with whom his father was working. With that Ryu embark on a quest to find the killer of his father. In his quest Ryu will traverse through dangerous urban city settings, snow covered palaces, railroads, forests and overgrown jungles. Powerups can be found throughout the landscape that allow will allow you to toss fireballs and ninja stars, as well as master some other neat tricks. The graphics were great for its day, the sound fitting for the action, and the game play is some of the best and most intuitive controls that I've seen in almost any game. Your player is very responsive and the special moves are very simple to master. Ninja gaiden is very challenging and addictive, I recommend it highly. In Europe this game is known as "Shadow Warriors," and in Japan as "Ninja Ryukenden." Preowned, includes game only - Rarity Rating "D-" - Ninja Gaiden game Review by "NES Gamer".
