#gm0250 - Developed and Published by Taito America Corporation, "Sky Shark" was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in September of 1989. This is a top-down perspective action shooter conversion of the arcade classic, and it doesn't disappoint. The game scenario is that you are the "Sky Shark" of your fighter/bomber squadron, and you must traverse through five levels of enemy territory to meet your objectives. In the beginning of the game you will have four lives and three bombs that you can use. But as you skillfully play the game, you can find more bombs and receive more lives at certain point. And there are as many as six gun upgrades. The game play for Sky Shark is (in my opinion), flawless. The graphics are what you would expect for 1989, and the sound and effects pretty good. There are three difficulty levels for every skill level player and it also features two-player support. Sky Shark is a classic old NES game and every bit as enjoyable as other great NES games like 1942. It is a very challenging game and yet has staying power, is addictive and a lot of fun. In Europe this game is known as "Flying Shark," or alternatively "Flyingshark," and in Japan as "Hishou Zame." Preowned, includes game only - UPC: 20588010079, 20588020702 - ESRB Rated "E" for Everyone - Rarity Rating "C-" - SkyShark for NES game Review by "NES Gamer".
