GM0183 - Developed by Game Freak, Inc. and published by Nintendo of America Inc., Yoshi was released in June of 1992. You have to help poor Mario in this fast-paced and unique Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) puzzle game in which you must mix and match falling enemy characters. There are falling blocks containing symbols of Piranha Plants, Goombas, Bloopers and Boo Buddies. As they fall, you must catch them on trays and piece together eggshells to free the Yoshi trapped inside. Simply move Mario back and forth to catch the falling characters. Change, shuffle and sort them to save the day. If you stack two characters of a kind, they will both disappear. You can also capture many of them between two eggshell halves, which will release a Yoshi. And the more enemy characters you capture, the bigger the Yoshi and the bigger the bonus. Another way to get rid of the falling baddies is to match 2 of the same blocks vertically. And you will also find that a new kind of Yoshi will appear on screen based upon on how many enemies are between the eggshell halves. The Gameplay has its advantages and the multiplayer mode is fun to play with friends. It features a split-screen, simultaneous play mode in which Luigi plays along with Mario. Summing it up, if you are a fan of Mario and puzzle games you will like this one. It's not one of the same old offerings, it's something different. Yoshi is not just another lazy puzzle game, but a unique, fun, interesting and addictive romp. Yoshi for NES features Password entry game progress saving. This game is often misspelled Yoshy. In Europe this game is called "Mario & Yoshi" and in Japan "Yoshi no Tamago." - Pre-owned - Includes Game Only, no manual or instructions are included.
