#gm0234 - Developed by Toaplan Co., Ltd. and Published by Acclaim Entertainment, Inc., "Tiger-Heli" was released for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in September of 1987. This is a solid port of the popular arcade game of the same name. Tiger Heli is a special billion-dollar top secret attack helicopter created by the defense department. The game scenario is that a terrorist country named Cantun has it's sights set on taking over the world, and it is up to you and your special tiger attack helicopter to defeat them. Like many others no nonsense shooter games such as Gradius, Galaga or Xevious, the objectives (like the plot) is very simple. Fly your tiger-heli through many scrolling screens shooting the enemy in the form of aircraft carriers, battle ships, tanks and trains that stand between you and the military base that is your target. Along the way you can shoot crates to receive power-ups to double your fire power and get extra lives. If you shoot a green crate you get a bomb, if you shoot a red one you receive the ability to shoot sideways, and if you shoot a white crate you get the extra ability to shoot forward. If you shoot 10 yellow diamond shaped crates you get an extra life. This game is old-school retro gaming at its best. Yes, there are many titles like this for the NES, but Tiger-Heli advances toward the head of the pack with addictive gameplay and its difficulty level. Fans of scrolling shooters will enjoy this game. Pre-owned - Includes Game Only - ESRB Rating N/A - UPC: 9119900490 - Rarity Rating C - Tiger-Heli Review by "NES Gamer".
