Disney's Duck Tales 2

  - gm0264 -Developed and Published by Capcom U.S.A., Inc., "Disney's Duck Tales 2" is a very rare game that was licensed and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in June of 1993. This is an old school traditional 3rd-Person Perspective, 2-D side-scrolling action adventure platformer game, and sequel to the original DuckTales NES game. The game scenario is that Scrooge's nephews (Huey, Dewey and Louie) are in his basement and find an old fragment of paper and show it to their uncle. Scrooge McDuck immediately recognizes it as part of his great, great Uncle Fergus McDuck's lost treasure map. Continuing the theme of the original, its up to Uncle Scrooge to search for the remaining pieces of the map that are hidden around the world and discover Fergus McDuck's lost treasure. Thus begins his trek for treasure through five diverse stages. They range from Niagara, Egypt, Scotland, Bermuda, and the mysterious island of Mu. Scrooge will encounter a number of enemies, his nemesis Flintheart Glomgold is also after the treasure and will stop at nothing to get it. But he can use his cane in number of different ways. Not the least of which is as a weapon where he can jump on his enemies. But it can also be useful in other ways, such as swinging it like a golf club to whack rocks and force diamonds out of coal. It can also be very useful as a pogo stick to jump or bounce to get to greater heights, or to avoid damage from spikes in the path. New to this offering is the ability to use the cane to push and pull some objects after he hits them. As with its predecessors, the graphics of Disney's Duck Tales are great. They are colorful and well done for the old 8-bit system. The sound effects are still outstanding, and the music in this game is as great as the music in the original, which is saying a lot. The tunes are still fun, catchy and memorable. And the game controls as tight as ever. Take my word for it, being so rare this costs a little more, but is well worth the effort and cash to obtain it. A classic in its own right. DuckTales 2 has three possible endings. The first ending happens only if you finish the game without collecting all seven map pieces. The second ending will happen if you find all the pieces of the map, and the third ending will occur if you finish the game and have no money. Also known as Disney's Duck Tales II, DDTII or DDT2. Pre-owned - Includes Game Only, no manual or instructions are included. Duck Tales 2 Adventure game review by "The Prince" NES Gamer.
