SGM0015 - Developed and published by Electronic Arts, Inc., "Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City" was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in November of 1994. This is a 2-D platformer game in the style of Mario. The story line is that you are the famous Basketball icon Michael Jordan preparing for the All-Star Charity Game, but you find out that your teammates have been kidnapped by Dr. Max Cranium. Someone has left an ominous note that tells you to visit a guy in the Egypt-room in the cities Museum. When you get to the Egypt-room, you find a secret passage leading to an underground area. Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City is played much like other 2D platformers, you go about collecting keys throughout the game to unlock different doors and rescue your kidnapped teammates. You take control of Michael’s every move through 24 different levels, while fighting over 20 different enemies. Your weapon to defeat the bad guys are basketballs. These can be upgraded to bounce balls, homing-balls, freeze-balls, bomb-balls and a flame-ball among others. There are seven basketball weapons in all. And of course, what would a Michael Jordan game be without a slam dunk. This is used as a secondary attack, and also for extra points and to activate powerup baskets and different checkpoints along your quest. When your energy starts running low, collect the special Wheaties and Gatorade to bring your health back up. Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City is a nice little game for everyone.
