Mia Hamm Soccer 64

n64gm174 - Developed by DC Studios, Inc. and Published by SouthPeak Interactive, LLC., this game was first released in Europe for the Nintendo 64 (N64) Entertainment System as "Michael Owen's WLS 2000," and later retooled with all women players and released in North America on November 9, 2000 as "Mia Hamm Soccer 64." That being said, both games are of outstanding quality, using a graphics engine similar to the ISS series. This is a 3rd-Person Perspective realistic European Football (Soccer) where you can compete against 32 international teams and 18 U.S. league teams. The game statistics are kept for the entire season on your Memory pak, so your goal is to be at the top of the standings when the season ends. You either compete in a league, play in exhibition mode or try your hand at obtaining the World Cup. In World Cup mode you play as the U.S with Hamm's All-Stars in competition against the best International Teams. This is a difficult level of play than league and is for experienced players. There are two types of control, which are easy and professional. Easy is a basic mode for beginners where the AI retains some control of players and play. If you choose professional, everything is in your hands and you will be able to perform over 23 distinctive moves and learned skill sets. In practice mode you can work on your basics, like penalty, corner and free kicks. The graphics are very good, well designed fields and backgrounds and good color. The gameplay is also excellent, with good control of your shooting, passing and sprinting. You can also control which stadium you play in (there are 10 different ones) and what type of weather conditions. I also like that this game allows you to choose various formations for the team, and there are referees who will call penalties, award free kicks and hand out red and yellow cards just as in real soccer. Mia Hamm Soccer 64 features a very good multiplayer mode where up to four players can compete against each other in either individual matches, League or World Cup. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this game, so I would advise you to go ahead and join America's soccer hero Mia Hamm as she competes with an all-star team against the world. Pre-owned - Includes Game Only, no manual or instructions are included. Rarity Rating "C" - Mia Hamm Soccer 64 game review by "Prince" NES Gamer.
