This game is a compilation of seven of the most popular and classic Arcade platformers including Defender, Joust, Spy Hunter, Sinistar, Robotron 2084 and Rootbeer Tapper. Defender is a space shooter game in the likeness of Space Invaders, where your mission is to protect the earth. You fly your mission craft to defend the people of earth from an invasion of aliens intent on kidnapping humans. In this classic game, you can move both up and down as well as side to side. In Joust you ride /fly an ostrich and attempt to knock out the other players on the field to collect the eggs. Once you accomplish this, you move on to the next section of the game. We've all played Spy Hunter, the top-down weapons based spy-mobile game where you shoot other cars and chase the bad guys through the city streets around various obstacles. There are power ups, oil slicks and other cars out to get you, so be on your toes. In the classic shooter Sinistar, you battle to destroy asteroids before they can land on the people. There are power up items to make your ship more powerful. Ultimately, you must face and battle the Sinistar. In Robotron 2084 your mission is to save the world's last hope, which is the last human family. But in order to accomplish your quest, you must fight your way through the many robots that stand in your way. You can also fire independently from the direction you are traveling. In Rootbeer Tapper, you are a bartender and your job is to prepare frosty drinks for customers when they run dry, and then successfully slide them across the tables to clear the level. my opinion is that Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Volume I is one of the best collection of Old Arcade games on the market. Great for old fans and new ones alike. Midways Greatest Arcade Hits Vol 1 is certainly lot of fun and a great challenge.
