#n64gm115 - Developed by A.I Co., Ltd. and Published by Hudson Soft Company, Ltd., "Bomberman Hero" was released for the Nintendo 64 Entertainment System (N64) on April 30, 1998. Bomber Man Hero 64 is a 3rd-Person Perspective, puzzle solving action Platformer game. After the popular release of Bomberman 64, Bomberman Hero was released on its heels to once again place our pretentious protagonist in the role of chief platform character in the series. This time Bomberman stars in his first (and only) platform adventure for the Nintendo 64. The game scenario is that you must use your skills to rescue Queen Millie Anne from the clutches of the wicked Nitros,o try and acquire an important computer disk from the mechanical man Pibot and stop the wicked Nitros from destroying Planet Bomber. It is in this most sacred mission that you will restore peace to Bomber World. As within all the games in the Bomberman series, you have to creatively place bombs in the correct locations to destroy enemies, break walls, and finish your mission. With exciting new creativity and innovative gameplay, you will love the intuitive new controls that will allow you to increase the amount of bombs that can be thrown at one time, and even alter the diameter of the blast radius. Bomberman Hero takes place over five distinctive planet worlds and 71 levels. On the gameplay side, the controls are quite solid and the actual gameplay has variety and style. The graphics are very well done with Bomberman fully rendered in polygons and animated splendidly. The fact is, visually you really couldn't ask for anything more from the N64 architecture. The sound is well done, and the soundtrack of techno/Bass drum effects mix well and is what we've all come to love and expect. Moreover, the game designers have even given our hero some very nice new toys. Powerful ups like the Freeze Bomb, Salt Bomb, and Remote Control Bombs and Power Glove are tried and true accessories. But you'll love the new BomberCopter, BomberMarine, BomberJet, and BomberSlider, along with 20 useful items. And although Bomberman Hero has no multiplayer feature, it does not suffer noticeably in the exciting, enjoyable or replay ability of this gem. This is definitely one of my favorite games on the N64. Bomberman Hero in Japan is also known as "Mirian-O-jo o Sukue!" Pre-owned - Includes Game Only, no manual or instructions are included. Bomberman Hero 64 game review by Prince NES Gamer.
