Extreme-G: XG2

$17.99

n64gm072 - Developed by Acclaim Studios London and Published by Acclaim Entertainment, Inc., "Extreme-G: XG2" was released for the Nintendo 64 (N64) Entertainment System on November 17, 1998. This is the 3D 1st-Person, 3rd-Person Perspective futuristic Racing shooter game that is the sequel to Extreme-G. It pits up to four players racing against each other at breakneck speeds with blazing fast futuristic cyber cycles. Extreme-G: XG2 is superior to its predecessor in that the game control of racing has been improved so that the G-bikes handle a lot better where you won't be careening into the sides of the tracks so much. It is upgraded visually through tons of little lighting and atmospheric effects. The Battle Mode has been improved with sprawling environments and slow-moving tanks, and the top-speed of cycles have been increased to breakneck proportions. The downside of that is that it is more difficult to control your vehicle at these speeds. Also, they have reduced the fog banks so that you are able to see a lot further when racing. While racing is of course the main attraction of Extreme G2, it is also a shooter so there are many weapons and power-ups that will produce a lot of mayhem, which is also a great draw to the gameplay experience. There are 3 variations that can be played on 12 different tracks, a multiplayer Cup (up to 16 players compete in two-player split-screen competitions), and a contest mode with three cups, three difficulties, plus an added Duel Challenge. Once again the graphics are very impressive, with excellent level designs. The music is standard, the sound effects are good, and the gameplay improved from the already smooth and responsiveness of the first offering. Extreme-G2: XG2 is quite addicting and a lot of fun to play. Extreme-G: XG2 is also known as "Extreme-G 2," "Extreme G2," "Extreme G II," "Extreme G 2," and "XG2."
