Starfox Adventures

GCG0014 - Developed by Rare, Ltd. and published by Nintendo of America Inc., "Starfox Adventures" was years in the making and was finally released on September 24, 2002. Fans of Fox McCloud will remember him from the Star Fox space shooter for Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64. In this under-appreciated sequel for Game Cube, Star Fox gets a overhaul and a different mission than his previous games. While there are certainly times when Star Fox uses his Airwing craft, this time he spends a lot of time on foot. This game is a third person action/adventure game where you (later) have control over Fox McCloud as he travels on his mission through Dinosaur Planet. The story line is awesome, you are to find the Spell Stones and bring back the four diverse pieces of Dinosaur Planet from space. And there are plenty of beautiful cinematic cut-scenes that appropriately keep you focused on the plot and your game objectives. They are very well done. The scenario is the Lylat system is terrorized by General Scales and his evil army, who are out to destroy Dinosaur Planet. Fox McCloud and his crew of space-faring mercenaries have orders to go to the planet and bring order to the Chaos. besides, they could use the reward money. Once there they find that the planet's spiritual protectors have been dispersed and they are basically on their own. Star Fox has help throughout the game in the form of his sidekicks Slippy, Peppy and ROB the Robot. These will often guide him and give him mission briefings. You are allowed to buy items in the game with "scarabs", which are the game's currency. you may spend these in stores, where you may also play in mini-games. In addition, there are a variety of useful weapons for Star Fox throughout the game, including of weapons and Blasters and grenades. There are also magical items to be found, such as the magic staff. This is a superb game, and one of it's main strengths is the surprising variety of things that you get to do in the game. No doubt a great game by any standard, filled with hidden bonuses to be discovered, and impressive sound and graphics. Pre-owned. Includes case, disk and instruction manual - Plays on Gamecube or Wii - Rarity Rating C
