The first Star Wars game to to be ported to a 4th-generation gaming console, "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader" improves upon its predecessor and raising the bar to a whole new level. It is a game that makes you feel like you are actually flying a craft and fighting in one of the famous Star Wars space fights. Of course, the greatest improvement is the game's brilliant new look and sound, thanks to the GameCube platform. Rogue Leader has some simply gorgeous and flawless graphics, animation cutscenes and sound. And the ambience in this game is breathtaking. As in the previous Nintendo 64 version, Rogue Leader draws upon the original Star Wars trilogy for its story. You play as either Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles (The voice is actually by the actor who played him in the movie), and will go on many diverse missions piloting various craft, such as the Snowspeeder, the X-Wing, the B-Wing and others. The missions that you command will reveal a web through the Star Wars trilogy and expand on incidents that were hinted at in the Star Wars films. Incidents such as the Battle of Hoth ands the attack on the Death Star. This game really knows how to add to the gaming experience and make you feel like you are involved in the game. The Gameplay is good and upgrades help a lot. You will earn various medals of bronze, silver and Gold for completing missions. While this game closely follows the Star Wars movies, with locations you will probably recognize, it is also very unique and much that is not in the movies. Rogue Squadron II features fifteen levels, and there are plenty of secrets and bonuses such as extra ships and such to unlock. Also known as SW:RL-RS2, "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader" is one of the most popular and impressive titles for the GameCube. If you own a Gamecube, and you have not played this game, then you should pick it up. Pre-owned. Includes case, disk and instruction manual - Plays on Gamecube or Wii - Rarity Rating C
