Die Hard

gm0223 - Developed by Pack-In-Video Co., Ltd, and Published by Activision Publishing, Inc., Die Hard was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1991. It is a very rare 3rd-Person Perspective, Side-Scrolling, Top-Down action platformer that is a difficult but challenging game with many cool weapons that you will need to complete your missions and rescue the hostages. It is loosely based upon the movie of the same name, and lets you assume the role of New York police officer John McClane. The scenario is John's wife Holly, is taken hostage on the 30th floor of a high rise in Nakatomi Plaza, along with many other partying guests. You start the game at the bottom of the Nakatomi Plaza and make your way up to the floor where infamous Hans Gruber is holding the hostages, while his hacker is attempting to break into a vault holding the money he wants. You can only use your fists in the beginning, but after a few victories, several weapons become available. There are pistols, flash bangs, machine guns, explosives and even a rocket launcher. When you are hit or shot by Han's bad boys, you lose some life energy, but it can be restored by collecting soda cans and med-kits. On the floors of this high rise are 40 of Han's henchmen, and your task is to clear each floor of these bad boys and completing objectives that will lead to completing the game. The stairwell, air duct or the express elevator are freely accessible at all times, but they can only be used to travel to Floors 31-35. What I particularly like about the game is that it features cinematic sequences, which change the story depending on which actions are taken. Die Hard is a fun game that is as true to the source material as it can be, and yet is still flesh and adventurous every time you play. Preowned, includes game only - UPC: 047875700116 - ESRB Rated "M" for Mature - Rarity Rating B+ Die Hard game Review by "NES Gamer".
